Kids on Bikes is excited to announce the ABC’s program expansion to Atlas Prep Elementary. Eight fifth grade students will have the opportunity to earn a brand new bike, helmet, and lock. Students will receive the bikes in a final awards celebration on May 24 and will be nominated by fellow classmates.
In addition to providing bikes, Kids on Bikes volunteers will provide enrichment presentations to enhance student learning. Jason Koop, pro coach at Carmichael Training Systems, will speak to the students about goal setting and his goal of accomplishing the Leadville 100 road race. StarFit Kids www.starfitkids.org will talk with students about the importance of health, nutrition, and staying active. Students will also make “Cog dream catchers” that will be figured in the ROLL 2010 Bike Art Show. We are very excited to partner with this great school and want to thank all our volunteers and supporters for helping make this happen!
