This exhibit will explore themes surrounding the visual appeal of the bicycle, its mechanical simplicity, the rotation of the wheel, the bicycle’s role in social intimacy, the evolution of bicycle form, personal expressions of the ride, association of the bicycle with the women’s movement, the risks of the road, fitness and health, decorative value, and the role of the bicycle in building community.

Bike art is really neat stuff. I hope the show does well and that it encourages more people to see and partake in art. I saw an artist at an art show in Santa Fe who does cool stuff with bicycle furniture out of parts. I saw his website and was very impressed.
